This collection contains various materials related to the Hawaiian Homes Commission. The first in the collection is the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act of 1920. The second contains all of the Reports of the Hawaiian Homes Commission from 1923-2002. The reports contain information relevant to the management of Hawaiian Homelands by the Hawaiian Homes Commission such as: financial statements, statistics for general leases, subleases, licenses, revocable permits, and rights of entry. Finally, the last in the collection is the Report of the Joint Hold-Over Committee of the Legislature to Study the Hawaiian Homes Project. This report contains proposed amendments to the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act, and other specific recommendations to the Hawaiian Homes Commission. Recommendations included, for example, that “members of the Hawaiian Homes Commission pay frequent visits to the homestead communities.”
