Kahn - Reports of the Governor of Hawaiʻi to the Secretary of the Interior (1900-1959)


The following collection contains the annual reports of the Governor from the period of 1900-1959. Information contained in the reports include, for example, population data, financial statements, value of exports and imports, plantation yields, and statistical reports summarizing information tabulated by various agencies. In certain years, the reports give a rendering of the impact of various laws here in Hawaiʻi. For example, in the 1919 report, there is discussion regarding the so-called success of the Sheppard Act which resulted in prohibition in Hawaiʻi. The 1942 report discusses the implementation of martial law in Hawaiʻi.
